Fantastic book and a great tantrum stopper., 10 Nov 2012

This review is from: The Hairy Plug Monster (Paperback)
"My daughter went through a stage of being scared of the plughole and the bathwater when she was about 2yrs old. We bought this book to try and stop the crying, tantrums and bath refusal that was going on and it worked perfectly. It's still one of my children's favourite books, and they both say good night to the Hairy Plug Monster as the bathwater goes down the plughole.
I couldn't rate this book highly enough."

Sometimes a picture really does paint a thousand words

A friend posted this recently on Leighroy's facebook page

"Abi was talking this morning about what was real and what was imaginary. She was going through everything she could think of and categorising it, so gruffalo = imaginary, totoro = imaginary, jesus = imaginary, when it came to the Hairy Plug Monster though she decided he's real. I thought you'd like to know :) "

She obviously knows there's no such thing as the Gruffalo.

another great review for 'A Cloud of Souls' posted yesterday:

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 13 Nov 2012
By Valeria

Such an exciting book from start to finish. There is always something happening. An air of anticipation on every page. A light glimpse into the world of spirit and different dimensions, of reality and non reality with fascinating characters like 'Flea' who has come
from another universe and 'Bolly-Bog' otherwise known as 'Two'. It is as if the characters are living in two worlds at the same time and yet the reality of the story is happening somewhwere in the vicinity of Bath.
With each chapter I couldn't wait to find out what was to happen next. This book is not just for children it is also for adults who enjoy excitement.
Carol has such a fantastic imagination and the gift of expressing it in words.
I can hardly wait for the next book. I hope there is to be a sequel

Great Read!,  7 Oct 2012
By      Sue D

Very well written fantasy...liked it very much indeed. The story was complex enough to be interesting & keep you guessing but not so complex as to totally confuse which is something that can often happen, (especially as my memory & attention span are not the best!) I felt great empathy for the main characters & was cleverly drawn into their colourful, magical world & lives- all was so well described that I could see it in my mind ...........I think all ages would enjoy this book.
Great Stuff...look forward to the next

Another brilliant review...

Another brilliant review 4.0 out of 5 stars A fast-moving fantasy 21 Oct 2012

By Mrs G C Cross

There are plenty of books which transport a hero from everyday reality into a

fantastic, imagined world. This book works the other way, and it's refreshing to see

the ordinary world transformed as it's seen through the eyes of a character from

another reality. Flea - as he's not really called - is a splendid hero. He's brave and

resourceful, but he remains a real boy, in spite of his super-powers. His adventures

are fast-moving and vividly narrated, with a refreshing touch of humour. I'm

looking forward to reading Carol Leith's next book.
